The Vivo V9 offers a stunning display and impressive specs at an affordable price point
Mar 23 2018 By Prateek PandeyPriced at Rs 22,990, the Vivo V9 is a solid smartphone which brings a lot of interesting features to the table, including a gorgeous display, impressive battery life, good performance and capable cameras on both, the front as well as the back. However, the smartphone market, especially the affordable segment at that has become extremely competitive over the years and for almost Rs 5K less, you can get your hands on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (review) which offers significantly better performance, a better build owing to its unibody metal design, a beefier battery and a comparable if not better rear camera. With that said, the fact that the Vivo V9 ships with Android Oreo out of the box is a huge plus and I`m certain that the smartphone`s front camera is also slightly better than what you get with the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Moreover, it`s a lot easier to get your hands on the V9 over the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which is almost always out of stock. Had Vivo priced its offering more competitively, I would`ve given my recommendation to the V9. However, as it stands, I feel that the Redmi Note 5 Pro offers a much better value for your money.

Just a notch inspired fully by Apple is just a thing for what you are charged 23000, they are providing plastic back at this price, which is not looking good at all. Glass back or Metal back should be there. RAM is just 4 GB which should be 6 at least, Screen type is LCD which should be AMOLED, both SIM cards are not supporting 4G as I read in specifications, camera and front design are quite good. Otherwise just like regular phones which are available at 15k around. My honor 7x is also giving perfect competition in almost all aspects, I ain't utterly disappointed to have V9 but I feel I should have waited for One plus 6 or should have gone for MI note 5 pro that's what I am actually feeling right now. I purchased this just for a notch and selfies BTW. These are my personal opinions, do some good research and buy accordingly your needs and not by getting influenced through big people or advertising. Vivo and Oppo are just good at marketing in India and hiring big celebrities to influence people. They should more focus on real needs of people and provide good quality durable phones with latest technology. Conclusion - It is clearly an overpriced product.
