Verdict
The Apple iPad Pro 9.7 WiFi Cellular 128GB edition offers an excellent metal design with durability, high-end performance, great camera specs, excellent system security, bright anti-reflective Retina display, and high internal memory. However, to fully utilise the features of the slate, you will need to buy the additional accessories. Also, its battery capacity is mediocre and multitasking is also limited. Overall, if you are looking for a powerful tablet with an excellent display, the iPad Pro 9.7 is one of the best offerings in the market.

Design and display

The Apple iPad Pro 9.7 is one of the best iPads the company has made till date. Similar to the previous-gen iPads, the iPad Pro 9.7 also sports a premium metal unibody design, which measures 6.1mm around the waist and tips the scale at 444 grams. It comes with the Apple Pencil accessory support, and can also be connected to a Smart Keyboard as well. Similar to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the smaller model also comes with four speakers for impressive media experience. The slate comes with a 9.7-inch display bearing a Retina resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. It gets a pixel density of 264ppi, anti-reflective coating, and is resilient to fingerprints. 

Configuration and OS

Performance on the iPad Pro 9.7-inch is handled by a powerful Apple A9X processor, coupled with an Apple M9 co-processor and 2-gigs of RAM. The slate offers a smooth lag-free user experience. For storage, the slate sports 128GB of internal memory. Software-wise, the tablet runs iOS 9.3, which offers several user-friendly features like split-screen multitasking, Night Shift mode and offers a secure Notes application. 

Camera

For imaging, the iPad Pro 9.7 offers a 12-megapixel iSight primary shooter with Focus Pixels, 4K video recording support, Live Photos and a TrueTone LED flash. For self-portraits and video-calling needs, the slate gets a 5-megapixel FaceTime camera. The device sports Retina Flash, which allows users to use the Retina display as LED flash for selfies. 

Connectivity and battery

The iPad Pro 9.7 gets a Touch ID fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button, which lets users to unlock the device and secure personal data within applications. It can also be used to make purchases from the iTunes Store and App Store. The slate comes with Apple SIM that lets you choose any telecom operator's network you want, and supports India's both 4G LTE networks. Its other connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 and A-GPS.
