if you are a gamer, then you can t ignore the Black Shark 2
Jul 07 2019 By Nitansh RastogiThe Black Shark 2 isn`t a regular, run-of-the-mill smartphone, and hence it`d be wrong to judge it in a similar vein. If an affordable flagship is what you`re after, then you could go for lower-priced options such as the ASUS 6Z (review), Honor 20 (review), or the OnePlus 7 (review). Even at the Rs 40k mark, there`s a loaded smartphone in the form of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom (review), which comes with versatile camera capabilities. But if you are a gamer, then you can`t ignore the Black Shark 2. It`s a great smartphone, ticking all the boxes that you might be looking for. From display to hardware, and from dedicated gaming mode to a good battery life. Yet, it`s not the only option that brings all this to the table. There`s the nubia Red Magic 3 (review), which offers similar functionality along with a smoother 90Hz display, and a beefier 5,000mAh cell, while being priced lower at Rs 35,999 for the base model. That said, where the Black Shark 2 gets a clear advantage is in the camera department.

An absolutely awesome phone (if u know ur way round with phones). So here are a couple of things which I didn't like so much: - Plain UI, unlike the elegant Pixel UI. However, it does have the stock experience and there is not much clutter, but the UI can sometimes feel a bit off without the lack of customisable tweaks. This can easily be fixed with a launcher. Personally I use lawnchair with the feeds plug-in. - The screen corners. They are a bit too rounded for my liking. The curves cut the corners of time and battery percentages. So that's a bit of a bummer. Also, in full screen videos, the corners do cut a bit of the video. - The camera is good, but it cannot be compared to the likes of Galaxy S series or the Pixel lineup. Installing Gcam from APK does improve image quality but the app often crashes while switching cam modes. - It doesn't have Android 10, yet. Here are the things I like about the phone: - The stellar performance, which is absolutely phenomenol. The multitasking is superb and something to get attached to. - Definitely the display. Although I did complain about the corners earlier, I absolutely love the display. The colors are vivid and it doesn't feel like a 60Hz display. Videos and photos look absolutely gorgeous. You won't believe it until you see it. - The 4000 mAh mammoth battery is easily one of the best features of the phone. You'll have to try very hard to kill it. - Sound quality is really attractive. I won't say it's the loudest speaker out there but the quality is really good, specially with the bass enhancements built in. - If you're into it, the RGB is also really good. The side RGB bar effects are subtle and fully controllable. If you're not into it, they can be easily disabled from the quick action menu. I got the phone for 18.5K (with offers), so I got hell of a deal. You can check out the comparison between this phone and the Galaxy S10 and this comes out as a clear winner in terms of performance (as per AnTuTu and Geekbench scores) I'd rate this phone as value for money.
