In the scene between Katie and Bev in Katie's bedroom, Bev mentions that Katie could go on American Idol, the actress Lucy Hale WAS on a spinoff called American Junior's when she was 14
Lucy Hale and Megan Park are both from hit ABC Family shows. Hale is in Pretty Little Liars (2010), and Park in The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008).
The building pictured in the scene change after Gail confronts Katie about sneaking out to the dance is University Hall from the University of Montana. The footage is taken from behind the Hall, looking down onto the Oval, with one of the four iconic clocks featured.
When Katie tells her step brother that it's dinner time her step brother replies "Tell me something I don't know" this is a Selena Gomez song which she sung and starred in the previous "Another Cinderella Story"
