This film was the first Raj Kapoor's Production R.K.Films which was without Lata Mangeshkar singing any song in Film. As per R.K.Film's Tradition always Lata Mangeshkar must sing in every R.K.Films Films. Lata Mangeshkar sang for R.K.Films for nearly 45 years from Barsaat to Prem Granth.
Rishi Kapoor approached Pran for the film. Rishi was persistent that Pran do another film for the R.K. banner.Pran declined as his health was very bad. Pran was worried if he passed away during the shoot, the film would suffer. Alok Nath replaced him.
