TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Babar's first animated movie based on the TV series.

The plot involves Babar having to sneak into an underground temple to free slaves and even has to cross a rope bridge to get there, this is very similar to the plot of Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom.

This movie was distributed by New Line Cinema, while its sequel, "Babar: King of the Elephants" was distributed by Warner Bros., New Line's future owner.

The pop ballad "The Best We Both Can Be" is the first solo song that Canadian jazz singer Molly Johnson has ever recorded, though it was never officially released outside of the movie. At the time Johnson recorded the song, she had left as the lead singer of the funk rock band Alta Moda after their breakup a year before, and was collaborating with other music groups, such as providing backing vocals on "The Hard Way", the most recent album by Richard Johnston's rock band Neo A4. However, she never released a solo jazz album until the year 2000.

Popular Dialogues

[Draws his knife and holds it over a map] Rataxes: At dawn we march on the Elephant Land! [laughing wickedly] Boy Babar: [watching on a ledge overhead with Celeste] No! Rataxes: By night, we'll reach the city wall. By morning... WE! SHALL RULE! THEM ALL! [slams his dagger into the map]"

"Cornelius: We'll set up a committee, to discuss and interact, Pompadour: Then authorize a study to investigate the facts, Cornelius: Then summarize the data, to find out what we have to do! Get out all the files, we have work to do! Pompadour: We'll call in all the experts, Cornelius: To hear just what they say, Pompadour: What's their general agreement and consensus today? Cornelius: And then submit a survey, to get a public point of view! Pompadour: [cheerfully shouting] With colored charts, projected curves! Cornelius: Demographics, too! And then we'll stamp it, date it, Pompadour: Duplicate it, Cornelius: Double-space and collate it, Pompadour: Never fold or mutilate it, that will NEVER do! Cornelius: [in unison with Pompadour] Then send it to committee for review! Cornelius: Then we'll circulate a memo, to all the staff concerned, Pompadour: Discussing all our options, and note what we have learned, Cornelius: And then submit the matter to a thorough democratic debate! Pompadour: [excited and thrilled] It will be glorious, GLORIOUS!"
