Manoj Kumar decided to make modern Roti Kapda Aur Makan and also got a Pakistani actor for his brothers role and plot was almost similar to the earlier film which was super duper hit and this took years in making and was super duper duper flop.
Muhurat of the film was on Ausgust 5, 1985. Mohammed Ali recited the bhajan "Raghupati raghav raja ram " on stage in front of a picture of Mahatama Gandhi. The media made not that Mohammed's pronunciation of the words in the Hindi song were terrible. People knew right there that Manoj's judgment was going wrong .

Actually Hema Malini was doing Rekha's role and Rekha was doing Anita Raaj's in this film, as Hema Malini couldnt do the film due to her pregnency. The film delayed took about 5 years to get completed. Rajendra Kumar and Manoj Kumar were staying toghether in their strugling days and they had promised each other that Whenever they make films, they will take each other in their films. Manoj Kumar kept his promise, and took Rajendra Kumar in Clerk, but Rajendra Kumar dint keep his promise he dint take Manoj Kumar in his films.
