Daraar is the the first film of Arbaaz Khan, he was introduced in this film.

Upon release, Daraar was subject to strong controversy due to its similarity with the Hollywood thriller 'Sleeping with the Enemy' and two other films released around the same time, 'Agnisakshi' and 'Yaraana'.

AHAT (1995) - Raja Ko Rani Se opening interlude was made into "Main Hi Main" from Daraar (1996).

Rishi Kapoor also starred in Yaraana which was also a remake of Sleeping with the Enemy. Ironically, in both of the films, his character's name was Raj.

Abbas Mustan wanted Shahrukh Khan for Arbaaz Khan's role, but Shahrukh declined . He felt he was doing to many negative roles.
