IMDbVikram's scenes in Goa were actually shot in Kerala and Mangalore.
The entire portion of the character David, played by Vikram was shot in Hindi and dubbed into Tamil, even though he is a Tamil actor.
Director Bejoy Nambiar opted for 'Live Sound Sync' for many scenes to maintain the realism in many scenes. This was a challenge for the actors as they would have to remember the dialogues because the whole scene would have to be re- shot if they made a mistake. However in the Tamil version, Vikram's portion was not 'live sound' and was just dubbed.
David is the first movie where two subtitlists worked on a film. The original subtitles were done by someone in North India whose subtitle quality was mediocre. Director Bejoy Nambiar was dissatisfied with the subtitles asked Rekhs, a renown subtitlist to redo the subtitles from scratch. However as the release date was approaching, the producer 'Reliance Entertainment' had printed on the original version of the subtitles on all the prints to be sent to other countries. Rekhs, subtitles were only used imprinted onto 7 prints that were sent to Malaysia.
"Mast Qalandar" had a old Punjabi version remixed in the album Extra Hot 7 Bhangra Remixes. Remixed by Amit and San J of The X Zecutive. This was in 1992. It also had another version in the album "House Of Shah: Mick St. Claire Remix Volume 8".This was in 1991.
