Drama centred around a dacoit named Ghela who believes in the power of the gun and regards it as a necessary tool for survival.
Based on a novel by Jayant Khatri.
Gujarat PSU refused to honour its commitment of financing a regional film, 'Dhaad', because its cast includes Nandita Das, an actress who expressed strong views against the state government during the communal riots of 2002.Nandita had demanded justice for the riot victims and joined many protest marches. Not surprising then that the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) is refusing to release funds for a film with Nandita in the lead role.Sources in the GMDC deny any Nandita factor though they have released only 50% of the Rs 30 lakh that its board had promised.
The film was previously titled "Outlaw."
