TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

When dedicating the statue of Captain Kirk versus Khan, Linus (Chris Marquette) jokes that it looks nothing like either of them, to which Admiral Seasholtz (Seth Rogen) states "Yes, thank you for pointing that out. Unfortunately the whores at Viacom threatened to sue, if we used their likenesses." This is an in-joke, due to the fact that none of the "Trekkies" wear official Star Trek clothing, and the Starfleet symbol looks nothing like the one from Star Trek.

Jay Baruchel's hairstyle and eyeglasses are meant to evoke George Lucas' appearance in the 1970s.

The coffee shop where Windows meets Rogue Leader is called "Java the Hut." This isn't just a clever play on words involving the Star Wars character "Jabba the Hutt", it's also the name of the coffee shop where Kristen Bell's character worked in Veronica Mars (2004).

In summer 2007, the Weinstein Company decided to re-shoot scenes for the movie, about one and a half years after the original shooting wrapped. The Weinstein Company planned to do re-shoots, because they wanted a comedy that appealed to the masses, and especially a younger audience. Harvey Weinstein felt that Director Kyle Newman's original movie version did not fulfill this. Therefore, they ordered the re-shoots.

The passenger side door of the van has the word "fanboys" written on it in the "Star Wars" Aurebesh alphabet and mirrored.

Popular Dialogues

"[last lines] Eric: Hey guys. Windows: What? Hutch: What, man? Eric: What if the movie sucks?"

"Windows: You guys both got to stop perpetuating this myth that Boba Fett is some kind of bad-ass. All right? He has a jet pack. So did the Rocketeer. Really cool. When it comes time for battle, the man's Michael Bay - all style, no substance. Hutch: If you diss the Fett the again, I will corn-hole you with a lightsaber!"
