In the early days of this movie's release on Netflix, the Halloween party sequence featuring a character dressed up as a big black cat (and calling himself Black Panther (2018)) had several speaking lines referring to Chadwick Boseman. Sadly, Boseman passed away in 2020 just prior to the movie's release in October 2020. Following his death, the lines referring to Boseman seem to have been edited out and/or recorded over, though in a few instances the original lines still appeared in the closed captioning during the scene.
Takes place in Chicago but was filmed in Atlanta.
Sloane says Ryan Gosling would never shop for his own groceries, and that "he's too cool for that." Then someone who looks sort of like Ryan Gosling appears to be standing directly behind her.
The "Lester" ventriloquist doll that Sloane refers to (briefly seen in the ceiling fan at her apartment) was based on Willie Tyler's main ventriloquist dummy, Lester. Although the toy version of Lester can still be purchased, it was particularly popular in the 1970s and 1980s, as sold through retailers like Sears.
Mannish Dayal (Faarooq) also plays a doctor on the television series The Resident.
"Jackson: By the way, your tits look exceptional in that dress. Sloane: Thanks. That's why I bought it. Jackson: Oh, love the way it hugs your ass, too. Sloane: That's really sweet of you to notice."
"Sloane: When did Halloween go from dressing up like a princess to dressing up like a whore? Abby: Oh, I dunno, like, sixth grade? Daisy: What's a whore? Abby: Um, somebody who gets paid to play with boys. Violet: I wanna be a whore. Daisy: Me, too. Abby: Okay, but just remember that the house gets fifty per cent."
