Since the death of the original voice of Inspector Gadget, Don Adams in 2005, this is the first animated Gadget not to be voiced by Maurice Lamarche.
In a couple of episodes , Penny is briefly seen wearing the same shirt and pants that she wore in the original series.
Despite the name of the show, Penny is effectively the protagonist.
Because Penny is more active and willing to put up a fight, she doesn't end up getting captured by a MAD agent, like in the original series.
Unlike in the original series, MAD Cat is female.
