TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Meryl Streep had asked her alma mater, Vassar College, if they could film the college graduation scenes on their campus. They refused even though Streep serves on their Board of Trustees and two of her children attend there.

In the scene where Jane answers a phone call from her daughter Lauren, she is clearly surprised by Jake who kisses her causing her to say "You're still on the phone" instead of "You're still on the plane." This was a genuine reaction from Meryl Streep who did not expect Alec Baldwin to kiss her. Nancy Meyers had directed Alec to kiss Meryl since it would be something Jake would do. Fortunately, Streep kept the scene going and incorporated her mistake therefore the scene could be kept in the movie.

John Krasinski admitted to being initially very nervous about acting alongside legend Meryl Streep.

Hermes noticed an uptick in sales of their scarves as Meryl Streep wears three of them during the course of the film.

In the movie Jane teases Jake about being an old father and being almost 80 when a potential child graduates college since his second wife wants to have a baby. Shortly after making the movie Alec Baldwin who plays Jake married a younger woman and has several children with her. In real life he will be over 80 when his youngest graduates college.

Popular Dialogues
