TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The film has been translated into over 1000 languages to date (including 10 different sign language versions), and 235 more translations are in progress, making it the most translated film in history.

One day during shooting, the twelve disciples went on strike because they felt that their pay wasn't enough. Most of the actors playing the disciples could barely speak any English so they asked Brian Deacon if he could negotiate a pay raise for them to John Heyman. Cooler heads prevailed as the disciples decided to stay on the project.

This is one of the few films not to have end credits.

Yitzhak Ne'eman (James) attended the premiere of the film in Israel but did not sit through the whole film. According to an interview he gave on an Israeli talk show in 1980, he was extremely disappointed in the film as he said that it took close to a year to make the film and several hours of footage was filmed but not released on the final product.

The man playing the corpse of Jesus later became a seminarian because of the film.
