This is the first and the last film which Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Madan Puri worked together. After Jhooti Hrishikesh Mukherjee, had announced an action film titled Laathi with Dharmendra but Laathi was shelved. Then he took a break he didnt make films until after 12 years he made a comeback with Jhoot Bole Kawa Kaate which was his last film.
Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Amol Palekar did many movies tougher, Jhooti was their last.
After 30 years the movie looks good. The movie was ahead of its time.
Tere Mere Milan Ki Raina from Abhimaan was later used for Chanda Dekhen Chanda from Jhooti.
