Count Thibault and André attack a red SUV, saying, "Look! A red dragon!" In the original French 1993 version, they demolish a yellow postal van, but first scare off its black driver, saying, "Look! A Moor!" The scene was changed for "racial sensitivity".
Jean Reno and Christian Clavier dubbed themselves for the French version.
Jean-Marie Poiré hated the movie, and mentioned that this was the reason why the third movie of the original French trilogy took so long to be made.
The fountain that Andre and Angelique go to is the same one seen in the opening credits of Married... with Children (1987), which also starred Christina Applegate.
When Julia and Thibault visit the diner, the barman and the couple on the left resemble the people in the diner in Edward Hopper's painting "Nighthawks".
"Hunter: Your French relatives are bathing in the toilet."
"Count Thibault: You are more than a rose. You are love's own flower."
