Rotten TomatoesThis American action spy film series never leaves to amaze the audience with its incredible and action-filled storyline featuring the famous Hollywood actor Tom Cruise playing the character of Ethan Hunt embarking on some serious missions to save the world from impending terror and threat. The movie is a huge bundle of jam- packed action sequences played out by Tom himself without the help of stunt artists. What makes the movie more appealing to the audience is the well-crafted plot which was interlinked with the main theme of the movie. The movie is a perfect light-watch combo and will surely keep the viewer glued to the screens from the very start till the end. The visual effects displayed were just top-notch and what the critics praised the most was the direction in which the movie was made. The other cast members also managed to play out their characters incredibly, which added more to the entire story.

While filming the famous scene where Tom Cruise drops from the ceiling and hovers inches above the ground, Cruise's head kept hitting the floor until he got the idea to put coins in his shoes for balance.
The trick with the disappearing/reappearing CD that Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) does to fool Franz Krieger (Jean Reno) is not a camera trick or any other visual effect, but a genuine sleight-of-hand trick.
The scene in which the water tank explodes and Ethan Hunt escapes from the Akvarium restaurant were shot at two different locations. The tank explosion and Hunt's jump through the restaurant window were shot at Paramount Studios. The portion of the scene in which he is running into the street with the water running behind him were actually shot in Prague's Old Town Square.
Last motion picture from a major studio to be released for home video on Betamax video cassette format.
Not only is this the only film in the franchise where Ethan Hunt doesn't fire a gun, it is the only one to not have shoot-outs or gunfights.
"Ethan Hunt: [sitting in an outdoor café] So, how does it feel to be a solid citizen again? Luther Stickell: Man, I don't know. I'm gonna miss bein' disreputable. Ethan Hunt: Well, Luther, if it makes you feel any better, I'll always think of you that way."
"Jack Harmen: [describing his "special" gum to Ethan in a Prague safe house] Stick of gum, right? [Ethan shakes his head. Jack demonstrates] Jack Harmen: Red light, green light. Come up against a lock you can't pick, you mash them together... *boom*. Hasta lasagna, don't get any on ya. You'll have about 5 seconds... [hands the "gum" to Ethan] Jack Harmen: Just don't chew it."
