Rotten TomatoesConsidering that there are more shows related to heists, Kaleidoscope hasn't turned out to be unique or exceptional in terms of the storyline but the part where this show could be watched from any episode in no particular order was refreshing and intelligent. However, the plot development was not up to the mark. The show had more potential. The choice of characters was well-suited and the individual performances of all the actors were also good but the storyline was not as gripping as it could have been. Movies and shows involving heists have the potential to keep the audience on their toes and the series, unfortunately, failed to do that. Besides its unique and fresh presentation in terms of watching, it doesn't bring anything new to the table as such. The actors engaged well with each and that was one of the things that kept the show running. All in all, the series could have done a better job.

The story of Kaleidoscope is loosely inspired by real-life events surrounding Hurricane Sandy when $70 billion in bonds went missing from downtown Manhattan.
A group of butterflies is called a Kaleidoscope. Each episode features a butterfly or makes mention of them.
This series is non-linear, which means that no matter in which order the episodes are watched, the entire story still makes sense.
According to the creators, due to the nonlinear storytelling structure, the show can be watched in any order with only one rule: that the episode "White" has to be watched last, as the season finale.
The order of episodes for this non-linear series is randomized for each Netflix subscriber. The order of episodes here isn't intended to be 'canonical' and instead is simply the chronological order of the narrative.
