Initially Akshay Kumar's Bachchan Paandey (2022) was planned as the Hindi remake of Tami film Veeram (2014) but Sajid Nadiadwala who also bought the rights of Jigarthanda (2014) decided to change the script and adapt Jigarthanda as Bachchan Paandey and Veeram as Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali with Salman Khan
After the failure of 4 back to back films Tadap (2021), 83 (2021) , Bachchan Paandey (2022) and Heropanti 2 (2022) Sajid Nadiadwala lost confidence in the project and wanted to postpone and rework on the script and other production aspects of the film but Salman Khan had faith in the script and tried to convince the former that the failure of his recent releases had nothing to do with this film but Nadiadwala having developed cold feet was not convinced by Khan and due to creative differences they parted ways and Salman Khan decided to produce the film himself.
Palak Tiwari, daughter of television actress, Shweta Tiwari will make her Bollywood debut.
