In the movie, Rohit's father died in a car crash and his mother was injured. The same thing happened to Preity G Zinta when she was thirteen years old.
The mentally challenged character played by Hrithik wears spectacles. After going through various spectacles, the ones he finally used, were the same pair that he wore as ultra modern Raj in "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai".
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was originally intended for the role of Nisha.
Hrithik Roshan was the first actor to win both 'Best Actor Crictics' and 'Best Actor' at the Filmfare Awards for Koi... Mil Gaya. After him Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor repeated the feat for 'Black' and 'Rockstar' respectively.
Just before the shot in which Hrithik uses his father's computer and accidentally communicates with the extra-terrestrials, Rekha warned Hrithik that she would slap him hard. He thought she was joking, but when the camera rolled, Rekha actually slapped him hard, which left him shocked.
"Rohit Mehra: You are a teacher, who's responsible for thousands of students, sir. You ought to inspire them to move ahead in life. Computer did not make man, man made the computer. So what the brains can accomplish, your computers never can, sir."
"Rohit Mehra: Do not ever consider anyone to be small, sir. Because what is small will become big someday, sir."
