The Gwildor character from the 1987 Masters of the Universe film appears in this series. He was likely created as a replacement for the Orko character in the film, who would have been too expensive to realize on screen. This is referenced directly by Duncan/Man-at-War, who states to Orko that the two are similar right before they meet. Orko and Gwildor end up working and bickering with each other throughout the series.
