Underrated leading man Jeff Fahey carries most of the dramatic weight of the Australian Wrangler. Fahey plays a handsome, athletic businessman who vies for the hand of rancher's daughter Tushika Bergen. Our hero must not only contend with his romantic rival, a dashing but dangerous cattleman, but also with a villainous creditor who craves the land left to Bergen by her late father. Trivia

Wrangler (1989) is an Australian film about a feisty woman who lives on a country property. The film was written by John Sexton, directed by Ian Barry and starring Jeff Fahey, Tushka Bergen, Steven Vidler and Shane Briant. It is also known as "Outback" and "Wrangler."

The plot appears to have been inspired by The Squatter's Daughter (1933). David Stratton called it "almost The Man from Snowy River (1982) III in terms of plot and character."
