STORY

Story

Mary Stuart Masterson and Sissy Spacek were considered for the role of Lucy Honicut Marsden.

Sissy Spacek, who was considered for the lead role, appeared the following year in Streets of Laredo (1995), as the older version of Diane Lane's character from Lonesome Dove (1989). Spacek and Anne Bancroft, who plays Lane's older self in this film, have both appeared in one of David Lynch's non-surrealist films. Bancroft was in The Elephant Man (1980), Spacek in The Straight Story (1999).
