Rotten TomatoesAn incredible work of art by Meghna Gulzar, which in contrast to usual espionage films, avoids depicting Indo-Pak hatred in Black and white and instead presents things with greater realism, where the adversary is depicted not only as a heartless monster but also as a human creature with feelings and emotions. The narrative is compelling from the first and the speed of the film is never slowed down. Dialogues are carefully planned and will compel you to consider more than just what is said. Alia Bhatt has done a fantastic job and she has skillfully captured the range of emotions that her character experiences. The supporting cast also does a fine job. The screenplay is excellent and pays close attention to even the slightest of nuances. the songs are impactful and manage to give chills. The film focuses more on the people who suffer during the war than on actual fighting and is truly a movie worth watching.
