Aamir Khan was originally offered for the role of Vasu but felt the role was too small.
Both legends Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar were very much impressed with the music.
Chandrachur Singh auditioned for Vivek Mushran's role and was rejected.
First Love Letter 1991 was completed much before Saudagar. As Subash Ghai was introducing Vivek Mushran and Manisha Koirala in the film producer Pahlaj Nilhani had to wait for month for his films release.
Upon arriving on the films sets, Raaj Kumar realized that Dilip Kumar's character spoke Hindi with a U.P. BIhari dialect. This angered him as he was to speak regular Hindi in the film and he was not told about Dilip's characters Hindi. He told Subash Ghai he was quitting the film right there and then and returning back to Bombay. Subhash Ghai had to go and convince Raaj Kumar for two hours to remain in the film. Ghai reasoned that Raaj Kumar's character was rich and royal where as Dilip's was a poor lower cast character. Hearing this Raaj Kumar finally relented and stayed in the film.
