TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Keanu Reeves did all of his own stunts in the film with no stunt doubles.

For the phone book scene, a prop phone book was made out of foam and rubber, so that Keanu Reeves could genuinely smack Grill, played by The Game, with it. Although The Game insisted on Keanu using a real phone book, after one take in which he was hit with it, they switched back to the foam and rubber prop, because the real one really hurt The Game.

Detective Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) wakes up at the beginning to the same alarm sound as in The Matrix (1999), where he played Thomas Anderson a.k.a. Neo.

There was a huge crowd of people gathered during the scene where Cedric The Entertainer, Keanu Reeves and Chris Evans took place in the parking lot since Cedric was a huge star especially in the African American community.

The scene where Grill lands on the sofa and smacks his head against the picture breaking the glass was not scripted and David Ayer loved it so much that he left in the film.

Popular Dialogues

"Thug Kim: Konnichiwa is Japanese. It's insultin' to Koreans. Tom Ludlow: How am I supposed to tell if you can't? Thug Kim: Fuck's that supposed to mean, white boy? Tom Ludlow: It means you got eyes like apostrophes, you dress white, talk black, and drive Jew. So how am I supposed to know what kind of zipperhead dog-munching dink you are if you don't? Boss Kim: Yo. D'you know who the fuck we are? Tom Ludlow: Yeah. You're a couple panheads buyin' a machine gun out of a trunk."

"[last lines] Captain James Biggs: I came as soon as you called. Tom Ludlow: I guess you were first on scene. Captain James Biggs: No, you were. Looks like Jack's friends got greedy, came after the money. Tom Ludlow: Is that what it looks like? Captain James Biggs: Mmhmmm. Tom Ludlow: This your plan, captain? Just sit back and let us all kill each other? Captain James Biggs: You were the plan. No one else could touch him. Once your eyes were opened, there was no other outcome. Decisions were made, Tom, by powerful men with powerful secrets. They were afraid of Jack. They asked me to help. One day, you will pass the chief in the hall and he will give you a nod. And you will know why. Because you were right, Tom. We do need you."
