For the first time in the seven year run of the New York City Horror Film Festival, Jennifer Lynch became the first female to win the Best Director award and Ryan Simpkins became the youngest actress to win Best Actress.

Billy Burke was originally cast as the character Sam Hallaway. Days before filming was to begin, he dropped out of the film. Lynch family friend Bill Pullman was then cast to replace him.
