During the "Rock Cock" sequence, Susan Sarandon and Goldie Hawn were shown Polaroids of the crew who had volunteered to be photographed especially for that sequence. The surprise on Sarandon's face is quite genuine when she saw who the photographs were of, and recognized the faces.
Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri are mother and daughter, and this is their fourth film together. Amurri can also be seen as the younger version of Lavinia in Suzette's photo collection.
In the beginning of the film, Goldie Hawn's character works at Whisky-A-Go-Go. In real life, Hawn got her start in Hollywood as a cage dancer at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go.
Last film of Goldie Hawn until Snatched (2017), 15 years later.
Bob Dolman got the idea for the film from a line of Jim Morrison's poem "Stoned Immaculate" ("One summer night, going to the pier I ran into two young girls. The blonde was called Freedom, the dark one Enterprise"), which he'd heard while rewriting the script to The Doors (1991).
"Hannah: Mom caught me and Jules in the pool together. Ginger: So? Hannah: We weren't swimming."
"Lavinia: You don't think they were maybe just skinny dipping? Suzette: No they were going at it. Lavinia: You don't think maybe they were just rubbing up against each other? Suzette: No they were fucking."
