TRIVIA

Trivia

Talking about the aspect ratio in which the film was shot (4:3), cinematographer Lorenzo Hagerman said that, while being a beautiful ratio to work with, it also managed to help in the framing of Jeff Goldblum (6'4", 1.94m) and Tye Sheridan (5'7", 1.71m) in their scenes together, without it looking funny.

Director Rick Alverson claimed that Dr. Fiennes character was thought to be played by two other actors, but subsequently landed on Jeff Goldblum, partly because of his past works as a more of a humorous character.

It was selected to be screened in the main competition section of the 75th Venice International Film Festival.

While being presented in FICUNAM (International Film Festival of the National Autonomous University of Mexico), director Rick Alverson said that the apparent drastic cuts of dramatic scenes were intentional, in the sense that "filmmakers commonly give us [audience] what we want", and he wanted to play with that custom of the audience.
