Rotten TomatoesUncharted is an action adventure film based on the video game franchise of the same name that tells the story of the two characters of the video game, Drake and Sullivan, as the latter recruits the former to help recover a fortune lost 500 years ago. The movie's direction and cinematography are excellent, as Ruben Fleischer does a great job in adapting the video game visuals for the big screen. Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are present in the majority of the film, with help from supporting actors like Antonio Banderas as Santiago Moncada, Sophia Ali as Chloe Frazer, and Tati Gabrielle. The film's themes of action and high-octane adventure are present throughout the film, offering a dramatised and real-life view of what the popular video game would be like. There is criticism regarding the plot, which is considered to be lifeless and generic compared to the video games. Overall, however, Uncharted is a good initiative in adapting and bringing to life a popular video game franchise.

Tom Holland did his own stunt work for the scene that sees him jump onto a hanging light fixture and hang high up in the air. His stunt double does step in for the fall, though.
The film is the first feature production of Sony's PlayStation Productions.
The scene where Nathan and Chloe are trapped in the small chamber that's slowly being filled with water was filmed by building a set and slowly submerging it into a pool of water. Better for safety and for multiple takes.
Tom Holland calls his plane scene the hardest action sequence he's ever made.
The film was banned in Vietnam and Philippines because it features a map that includes the nine-dash line, a contested sea feature that, as per tribunal decision of the United Nation Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) last 2016, does not have any legal basis.
"Hotel Guest: [on seeing Nate and Chloe coming out of the ocean] Whoa! What the hell happened to you two? Nathan Drake: [exasperated] Fell out of a car that fell out of a plane. Hotel Guest: [bluntly] Huh. You know something like that happened to me once."
"Nathan Drake: Nuns. Why is it always nuns?"
