KRAFTON India has opened pre-registration for BGMI Lite in India, giving Android users their first opportunity to sign up for the lighter version of its popular battle royale game. Pre-registration is currently available through Google Play, with exclusive rewards set to be announced at a later date.
Users can now begin pre-registrations for BGMI Lite by heading to the Google Play Store page. The game is scheduled to launch in India later this year, although KRAFTON has not revealed an exact release date yet. The company says the game will have an initial download size of around 1GB, making it considerably easier to install on smartphones with limited storage.
Existing BGMI players will also not need to create a new account or transfer their progress. They can log in using their existing BGMI account, with their items and progress carrying over to the Lite version.
The Lite version is designed to bring the core BGMI experience to a wider range of devices without requiring users to have a powerful smartphone. KRAFTON says BGMI Lite will support cross-play with the standard version of the game, allowing players on both versions to squad up and play together.
The company has not yet revealed the complete system requirements or details about the changes made to optimise the game for less powerful hardware. More information is expected to be announced closer to the launch.
For now, the smaller download size, existing account support and cross-play make BGMI Lite a more accessible version of the game, particularly for users with older or entry-level smartphones. Pre-registration rewards will also be announced soon, giving players another reason to sign up ahead of the launch.
