Ai+’s upcoming budget 5G phone, the Ai+ Nova 2 5G, has been listed on the Google Play Console, offering an early look at the phone ahead of its expected launch in India. The listing reveals some of the hardware and also includes a render showing the device’s front design.
The image shows a fairly basic layout with a waterdrop-style notch and slim bezels around the display. A red-accented side button is visible as well, which is likely the power key. The listing mentions a 720 x 1600 resolution, indicating the phone will use an HD+ display. According to the console database, the device is powered by a Spreadtrum UMS9621S chipset. The processor uses two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.1GHz, along with a Mali-G57 GPU. The phone is listed with around 3.6GB to 3.7GB of RAM, which means the final model could ship with 4GB RAM.
The CPU layout looks similar to the chip used in the earlier Ai+ Nova 5G, which runs on the Unisoc T8200 processor with the same Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 core structure and Mali-G57 graphics. The earlier Nova, however, launched with 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. This could be the company’s way of not raising prices considering the cost of memory components is already going north.
The appearance of the Nova 2 on Google Play Console follows earlier teasers confirming that the Ai+ Nova 2 series is coming to India soon.
The Ai+ Nova 5G launched in India in July 2025 with a 120Hz display, 5,000mAh battery and a 50MP dual rear camera. It was priced at Rs 7,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant and Rs 9,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version on Flipkart. The Nova series sits above the company’s entry-level devices such as the Ai+ Pulse series. The Ai+ Pulse 2 launched earlier this month starting at Rs 5,999 with a 6,000mAh battery and a 120Hz display.
Ai+ is backed by Madhav Sheth, the former head of Realme India, and operates under NxtQuantum Shift Technologies. The brand has been pitching its phones around locally trained AI features and privacy-focussed software, with user data stored on servers located in India.
When it launches, the Nova 2 will enter the crowded budget 5G segment in India, where companies like Redmi, POCO, and Realme offer multiple options under the Rs 10,000 mark. If AI+ keeps the Nova 2 within the Rs 8,000 – Rs 9,000 bracket, it could appeal to users upgrading from older 4G phones who want basic 5G connectivity and everyday performance. Buyers focused on bigger batteries or more RAM may still find stronger options by stretching their budget slightly towards the Rs 10,000 segment.
