  • Students and teachers can get the MacBook Air M5 for roughly Rs 1,37,900 under Apple’s education pricing scheme.

Apple is now offering bank-based discounts on its MacBook Pro and MacBook Air lineup in India, as the company’s recent price hikes left buyers unhappy. The offers are tied to eligible bank cards rather than flat price cuts, which makes them useful but not exactly accessible. Let’s take a look at the offers in detail below.

Apple Macbook discount offer details

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip gets up to Rs 15,000 cashback, while the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip gets up to Rs 9,000 cashback on select bank cards. Apple is also extending education pricing on the MacBook Air, which brings the effective price down a little further for students and teachers.

Macbook Air M5 (13-inch)Rs 1,19,900Rs  1,49,900Rs 1,40,900

This is Apple doing what Apple does best, which is keeping prices high and then softening the blow with card-linked offers. The discounts in this instance are there, but the base prices are still steep enough that the deals feel more like damage control at this point than a true bargain.

The other side of this is timing. Memory prices are still showing no real correction, and that means further price hikes on electronics cannot be ruled out. Waiting for a bigger sale could pay off, but if Apple raises prices again, the savings may not fully offset the higher base price. Companies will always protect profits first, and it would be unwise to expect Apple to be any different.

This is really a call based on need. If you are in a hurry to upgrade, the current offers provide you a decent window to buy before any possible price increase. But if you do not urgently need a new MacBook and can comfortably wait a year or longer, waiting still looks like the more prudent move.
