Here's an early look at Samsung's upcoming foldables

Update (August 2025): The Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 launched in August 2022, debuting Samsung’s refined foldable design language with slimmer bezels, stronger hinges, and enhanced durability. The Fold4 offered a 7.6-inch inner AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and a 50MP triple-camera setup, while the Flip4 featured a 6.7-inch main display, larger cover screen, and improved battery life. Both models supported IPX8 water resistance and One UI optimisations for foldables. You can check out our full reviews of the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 for real-world impressions.

I know, I know, you’re not here for my bloviation, so we can skip the routine — no offense taken. But with just days to go before Samsung’s next Unpacked event, the leaks are only getting juicier. This time, we have the first official press renders of the brand’s upcoming foldables, giving us our clearest look yet at the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 in their headline colour options. These images not only confirm the expected premium design language but also highlight Samsung’s focus on expanding style choices for its foldable lineup.
Above, you can see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 in, from left to right, Phantom Black, Beige, and Graygreen. Design-wise, the Galaxy Z Fold4 retains the book-style foldable form factor but appears to feature slimmer bezels around both the cover and main displays, giving it a more refined, modern look. The rear camera module follows a vertical, individually stacked lens design similar to its predecessor, but the camera housing blends more cleanly into the back panel. The hinge mechanism is also rumoured to be slightly more compact, potentially improving durability and reducing weight.
The Galaxy Z Flip4 is visible here in Gray, Purple, Gold, and Light Blue. The Galaxy Z Flip4 keeps the familiar clamshell design but may sport a slightly larger cover display for quicker interactions without unfolding the device. The main display is expected to maintain the tall aspect ratio ideal for vertical content and one-handed use. The flat edges, polished frame, and vibrant dual-tone colour combinations give it a playful yet premium aesthetic, appealing to both style-conscious and mainstream users.
More to come as August 10th approaches, including different angles, colourways, and special editions such as Thom Browne and Bespoke. Samsung is positioning these foldables as both high-end tech and fashion statements, offering a range of finishes to cater to different tastes. If the design refinements and colour options are anything to go by, the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 could further cement Samsung’s dominance in the foldable category while appealing to a broader audience than ever before.
