Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is set to debut on August 13th globally and in India on August 14th. This will be the first foldable to debut in the country from the Mountain View giant. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold colours
The new Pixel 9 Pro Fold renders show the foldable in Obsidian and Porcelain colours. Unlike the original Pixel Fold, which had a wider aspect ratio, the successor boasts a regular foldable phone form factor, with a taller cover screen and a large inner folding screen. To recall, the Pixel Fold featured a 17.4:9 aspect ratio on the cover screen and a 6:5 form factor on the inner screen.
The outer screen has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout and sizeable bezels around the screen. The edges of the cover screen are curved/rounded and this should offer better grip on hands. The inner screen has a punch-hole cutout for another selfie snapper and this is placed at the top-right corner. We also see symmetrical bezels around the screen. The leaked promo material showed a 6.3-inch Actua Front (cover screen) and an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display (inner screen).
Flipping the phone to the back is where you see a large square module at the top-left edge, within which there are two oval-shaped modules to house the camera sensors and an LED flash. This is a big shift from a single horizontal strap on the original Pixel Fold. The volume rocker and power buttons are present on the right edge. It is hard to tell from the renders how apparent the inner screen’s crease will be in real life.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: what we know so far
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will have a 6.3-inch cover screen and an 8-inch Super Actua Flex display. In comparison, the OG Pixel Fold had a 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 7.6-inch OLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The foldable could be powered by the in-house Tensor G4 chipset. This will be an upgrade over the Tensor G2 on the predecessor. The chipset could be paired with up to 16GB RAM.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold could have a 48MP main camera, a 10.5MP ultrawide snapper and a 10.8MP telephoto sensor. This is in comparison to the 48MP primary camera, a 10.8MP Ultra-wide camera and a 10.8MP telephoto camera. There could be a 10MP shooter on the front for selfies compared to a 9.5MP and an 8MP selfie camera on both screens.
