The Pixel 11a will be the final member of Google’s flagship lineup and the most affordable model. The smartphone is expected to launch early next year, but a new leak gives us the first look at the Pixel 11a’s design, thanks to renders shared by OnLeaks via Android Authority. The Pixel 11a looks much like its predecessor, the Pixel 10a, suggesting there may not be any major design changes. Let’s take a look.

The leaked renders show the Pixel 11a in a striking dark violet shade, which could become the lineup’s signature hero colour. This shade could be called ‘Frost’. The Pixel 11a is expected to launch in more colours: black (Obsidian), silver (Fog), and green (Olive/Pistachio). Design-wise, the phone closely resembles the Pixel 10a, retaining a flush rear panel that sits completely flat rather than using the iconic protruding camera bar seen on higher-end models.
The main visual distinction lies around the camera module, which now sports a subtle accent border. This subtle tweak gives the camera housing a more defined, cohesive look compared to its predecessor. Flip it over, and the front looks nearly identical, complete with relatively thick bezels surrounding the display. Standard hardware controls like the power button and volume rocker remain along the right edge.
Google Pixel 11a specifications: what to expect
The Pixel 11a is expected to house the new Tensor G6 chipset, which is also found on the Pixel 11 lineup. The new chipset is said to deliver up to 20 percent better power efficiency, 25 percent faster browsing, and 15 percent faster app loading. It would compete with new flagships running the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series, and Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup too. It’s tipped to feature a compact 6.3-inch FHD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,350 nits of peak brightness, slightly higher than Pixel 10a’s 3,000-nit maximum brightness.
Google is also expected to equip the Pixel 11a with a new front-facing camera, promising better selfies and improved video call performance. Battery capacity might remain the same, with the typical value rumoured to be 4,870mAh, which could be 5,000mAh or 5,100mAh like the Pixel 10a.
Based on leaked information, the Pixel 11a looks like it will offer major upgrades in performance and front camera capabilities. If you’re on an older model like the Pixel 9a, upgrading to the Pixel 11a might make sense, but Pixel 10a users may likely stick with the same model unless the upgrades are highly significant in real-world use.
