Google Fitbit Air price in India, availability

Google has launched the Fitbit Air at Rs 13,999, and it will be available to purchase starting October 2nd through the Google Store, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, and others across India. Buyers can get a cashback of Rs 1,000 on full swipe or with six-month no-cost EMI on select HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cards. No-cost EMI options of up to 12 months are also available on consumer loans.

Fitbit Air can be purchased in Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog colours. Google is also launching three band styles for the Fitbit Air. These include the Performance Loop Band, which comes with the device; the Active Band, featuring a sweatproof silicone material for workouts; and the Elevated Modern Band, meant for style-focused users.

Google is also offering a three-month trial of Google Health Premium on purchasing the Fitbit Air, which gives you full access to the Google Health Coach experience.

Google Fitbit Air specifications and features

The Fitbit Air’s design makes it look like a normal band on your wrist, but it actually works as any fitness band would, without the screen. It comes with support for continuous heart rate tracking, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, irregular heart rhythm (Afib) notifications, detailed sleep analysis, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, and automatic activity detection.

You can track your daily activity and health reports with Google Health Coach, which also turns your data into more personalised, actionable guidance. You can also use your phone’s camera to capture gym equipment and workout routines for easier activity logging. The tracker is said to offer up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. It also supports fast charging, which is said to provide up to a full day of battery life in just five minutes.

Fitbit Air is designed for users who want distraction-free workouts or simply prefer the minimalist design. This could be the perfect antidote to smartwatch fatigue for a specific segment. It’s also more affordable compared to other popular fitness bands like Whoop, which start around Rs 21,000 and go up to Rs 46,000 and more in India. The Fitbit Air could be a compelling upgrade if you’re looking for a Whoop alternative, but not if you rely on a smartwatch screen for notifications and apps.
