Global OPPO Reno 15 to feature Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, will differ from Chinese model: report
While OPPO gets ready to launch the Reno 15 series in China on November 17th, a new report suggests that its global model will be quite different from the one which will be unveiled in its home market. As per a leak by SmartPrix, OPPO is taking a region-specific approach for the Reno 15 lineup by changing hardware, camera capabilities, and overall positioning as per the market. OPPO seems to be targeting different sets of user expectations with the Reno 15 in separate regions instead of following the same playbook.
The global OPPO Reno 15 is said to sport a bigger 6.59-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This makes it marginally larger than the one that is expected to launch in China, making it a device targeted at users who like using larger screens for entertainment and general usage.

Internally, the international model is expected to house the mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor under the hood. It may be paired with a 6,500mAh battery supporting 80W wired charging, offering strong battery life without sacrificing charging speeds in equal measure. With that kind of spec combination, the global Reno 15 will be competing in the same league as the Samsung Galaxy A-series, OnePlus Nord lineup, and Vivo V-series.
The global Reno 15 is rumoured to get a triple rear camera with a 50MP primary shooter, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. While the telephoto lens is an unusual inclusion for mid-range phones, this seems to be a setup geared towards flexibility for everyday photography, zoom shots, and wide-angle landscapes. Other expected features include Wi-Fi 7, NFC, under-display fingerprint sensor, and Android 16. According to the leak, the global launch could happen in February 2026.
The Reno 15 in China will supposedly use a smaller 6.32-inch OLED display but offer more powerful internals and a significantly upgraded camera system. It is tipped to run on the Dimensity 8450 chipset, along with a 6,200mAh battery supporting the same 80W charging speed.
Where the Chinese model really differs, though, is in its main 200MP primary camera, flanked by two 50MP sensors for ultra-wide and periscope telephoto capabilities. This makes the Chinese variant more photography-oriented, putting it closer to premium competitors from Xiaomi, Vivo and Honor. The difference in camera hardware implies that OPPO positions the Chinese Reno 15 closer to an upper-premium audience, while the global model targets the mid-range category.
The Reno 15 with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 could be a well-rounded device for international users, packing in a big screen, good battery life, and feature-rich cameras, perfect for the general user who seeks reliable all-around performance. However, for camera enthusiasts, the global variant could seem more subdued compared to its Chinese counterpart.
If camera performance is your top priority, it might be worth waiting to see if OPPO brings a more premium Reno 15 Pro model to global markets. However, for most everyday users, the leaked specs of the global Reno 15 point towards a solid, dependable mid-range upgrade when it arrives.
