Known for leaking details regarding Pixel smartphones way before their release, tipster Mystery Leaks claims that the upcoming Google Pixel 11a will be codenamed Formosan. The device is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 1080p paired with a 120Hz refresh rate. Brightness is an aspect where the Pixel 11a could feature a notable upgrade, as the display is said to reach 2,250 nits in HDR content and a peak brightness of 3,350 nits, which is higher than Pixel 10a‘s 3,000-nit maximum brightness.
Since the Pixel 11a will launch months after the Pixel 11 series, it could feature the Tensor G6 processor, a chipset that’ll be based on a 2nm fabrication process, while the Titan M3 security chip could also be in tow, just like previous models. However, one of the most significant hardware shifts rumoured for the Pixel 11a is the switch from Samsung’s Exynos modem to MediaTek’s M90. The Tensor G6 could be paired with 8GB of RAM.
