Crisp 5K renders and 360-degree video give us a complete look at the Google Pixel 6a.
Update (August 2025): The leaked renders of the Google Pixel 6a turned out to be largely accurate. The phone launched in mid-2022 with the same visor-style camera bar, dual rear cameras, a centred punch-hole display, and a compact 6.1-inch design, as suggested by the renders. Google went with the Tensor G1 chipset instead of a Snapdragon processor, giving the phone the same AI-driven features as its flagship siblings. While the Pixel 6a skipped the 50MP sensor in favour of the older 12.2MP + 12MP dual setup, it still delivered some of the best cameras in its price segment thanks to Google’s computational photography. The phone also shipped with Android 12 and has since received major updates up to Android 15. The Pixel 6a officially launched in India the same year, priced at Rs 43,999.
Original story follows…
After years of experimentation, Google finally achieved something unique with the Google Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro flagships. The phones tout a unique visor-like rear camera module to make them stand out. Unfortunately, the Pixel 6 phones have not been released in India and are not likely to come anytime soon. We now look forward to the Google Pixel 6a launch, which is expected to be a mid-range device based on the flagship series. Today, 91mobiles brings you your very first look at the Google Pixel 6a. The Google Pixel 6a renders in crisp 5K resolution come courtesy Steve Hemmerstoffer aka OnLeaks. Check them out below.
The Google Pixel 6a shares the same design language as its elder brothers, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Starting from the front, the Pixel 6a will feature a 6.2-inch flat OLED display with a single centered punch-hole camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner. There are dual rear cameras and a single LED flash housed in a visor-like module similar to the one on the Pixel 6.
From these stunning renders, we can see that the Pixel 6a will have a glass back and dual-tone finish. On the right side of the frame, we can see the volume rocker and the power buttons. The volume buttons do look like they are in an awkward position considering the size of the device. The phone will measure roughly 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7mm (10.4mm including rear camera bump).
On the bottom, we see a USB type-C port along with two grilles, one for the speaker and one for the microphone. There are antenna cutouts on all four sides, and the SIM card housing is on the left side of the device.
The Google Pixel 5a that launched back in August had pretty modest specifications such as a Snapdragon 765G and 12MP+16MP rear cameras. So we expect the Pixel 6a to be a step up from its predecessor. The phone could feature a mid-range Tensor processor like a Tensor lite or even a Snapdragon 778G, but we are only speculating at the moment. Since its big brothers had a bump up in camera hardware, we can expect a similar treatment for the Pixel 6a as well. The primary camera may be the same as the Pixel 6 i.e. a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor.
The Pixel 6a may also come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Since the Pixel is all about the software experience, we are expecting the phone to be launched with Android 12 out of the box, with software support for up to 3 years and security updates up to 5 years. It will be interesting to how Google will price the Google Pixel 6a and whether the company plans to launch the device in India.
