Infinix Note Edge vs Redmi Note 15: which is the more noteworthy pick under Rs 25,000?

Infinix recently kicked off its 2026 smartphone campaign with the release of the Infinix Note Edge. Priced at Rs 21,999, the Note Edge is the third smartphone to feature a dual-curved-edge display under Rs 25,000 this year, with the other two being the Redmi Note 15 and POCO M8. Since the Redmi smartphone starts at Rs 22,999, it also happens to be Infinix Note Edge’s closest rival, especially because both handsets place heavy emphasis on in-hand comfort, large batteries, and sleek form factors.

With similar headlining features, if you’re wondering which smartphone to choose, we’ve made your decision easier by pitting the Infinix Note Edge against the Redmi Note 15 based on their on-paper specs.

Battle of curved-edged designs

Addressing the most obvious highlighting feature of both smartphones first, even though the Infinix Note Edge carries a curved display, the side edges are not as deep as the Redmi Note 15. Meaning, the Note 15 sports a traditional curved panel, which we’ve previously seen on many high-end smartphones, including Xiaomi’s own Redmi Note 14 Pro+. As a result, the Note 15 should provide a stronger grip thanks to its narrower width compared to the Note Edge, making it easier to use one-handed.

On the contrary, the Infinix Note Edge measures 7.2 mm in thickness, making it 0.2 mm slimmer than the Redmi Note 15. But when it comes to weight, the Note 15 is 12 gms lighter than the Infinix Note Edge, which weighs 185 gms to 190 gms depending on the colour variant. In terms of durability, the Infinix Note Edge deploys Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the display, while an IP65 rating ensures protection against dust and water exposure. The Note 15 is IP65+66 certified and also gets a scratch-resistant display protection.

The Infinix Note Edge also has some tricks up its sleeves, such as rocking a Halo RGB lighting within the camera module that lights up to indicate incoming calls or notifications and a dedicated ‘One-Tap’ button on the side to trigger actions like enabling torch, switching sound profiles, and more.

Curved displays to instil premium feel

The Infinix Note Edge and Redmi Note 15 are among the few smartphones to carry curved displays under the Rs 25,000 category, since many brands now opt for flat panels. If we take a glance at the display specifications, Infinix Note Edge’s 6.78-inch AMOLED panel features a 1.5K (1208 x 2644) resolution, while the Note 15’s 6.77-inch AMOLED display is limited to FHD+ (1080 x 2392) resolution, giving the Infinix smartphone an upper hand.

In real-world use, the Note Edge should deliver sharper details across whatever content you view on its display, whether text while browsing, images on social media, or videos and movies. While both phones feature LTPS AMOLED panels with refresh rates up to 120Hz, the Note 15 offers 800 nits of typical brightness, a tad brighter than the 700 nits on the Infinix Note Edge. In peak brightness, the Infinix phone comes on top by carrying 4,500 nits of brightness, while the Note 15 is limited to 3,200 nits.

For those sensitive to display flickering, the Redmi Note 15 should be a better pick as it gets 3840Hz PWM dimming, whereas the Infinix Note Edge is limited to 2160Hz.

Processors that should suffice for daily workloads

The Infinix Note Edge runs on the newly unveiled MediaTek Dimensity 7100, a 6nm-based octa-core chipset with up to 2.4GHz clock speeds, while the Redmi Note 15 is powered by the tried and tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a 4nm-based chip that also gets a 2.4GHz CPU.

While we’re yet to test the capabilities of the Dimensity 7100, Infinix claims the Note Edge can achieve over 7,50,000 score on AnTuTu (v11) benchmark, while the Redmi Note 15 delivered a score of 8,68,311 in our in-house tests. Even though this indicates that the Note 15 is capable of delivering slightly better raw performance, the Dimensity 7100 SoC featured on the Note Edge shouldn’t be far off in real-world use. Furthermore, both phones get UFS 2.2 storage speeds and are available in up to 8GB RAM + 256GB storage options.

A more capable camera hardware on Redmi

Onto the cameras, the Infinix Note Edge rocks a 50MP primary shooter with f/1.8 aperture at the rear, while the front punch-hole cutout houses a 13MP selfie camera. Both these cameras can record videos in up to 2K 30FPS resolution. Along with the traditional camera modes, it also features functions like AIGC Portrait for generating animated avatars of people, Sky Shop that can change the style of the skies, and Dual Video for recording videos using front and rear cameras simultaneously.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 15 sports a more capable camera setup, including a 108MP f/1.7 aperture main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens on the rear, while on the front there’s a 20MP selfie shooter. The main camera can record videos in up to 4K resolution at 30FPS, while the front camera is restricted to 2K resolution recordings.

New software design vs tried and tested software

The Infinix Note Edge boots on the newly released XOS 16. Based on Android 16, the software introduces a new “Glow Space” design language, while revamping several key areas, such as the quick settings panel and look and feel of first-party apps. It also introduces depth effect for the homescreen and lockscreen for an immersive visual appeal. We’ve already covered XOS 16 in detail in our hands-on article, which you can check out to know what the skin offers.

The Redmi Note 15, on the other hand, runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2. Even though Android 16 hasn’t been released for it, Xiaomi is promising four years of OS upgrades along with six years of security updates. Meanwhile, the Infinix Note Edge will receive three OS upgrades and five years of security patches. In a nutshell, both smartphones will receive OS upgrades till Android 19, with the Redmi handset getting an additional year of security updates.

Significant battery size difference

Despite being slimmer than the Redmi Note 15, the Infinix Note Edge boasts a larger 6,500mAh battery. Although not small by any means, the 5,520mAh battery of the Redmi smartphone should offer enough endurance for a day. Both companies have bundled a 45W charger with their smartphones.

Summing up

With a price difference of just Rs 1,000, the Infinix Note Edge at Rs 21,999 offers a sleeker but wider form factor, a larger battery, Android 16 out of the box, and a sharper display. While the performance on offer on both handsets may not be the best in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment, the Redmi Note 15 may have a slight advantage in the long term due to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 being more capable than the Dimensity 7100, at least on paper.

Similarly, the Redmi Note 15 starts at Rs 22,999, gets a narrow and lighter build, making it easier to hold one-handed for long durations, a superior camera hardware with OIS and 4K video recording support, and a tad brighter display for regular use.

Simply put, if you value camera optics, better performance numbers, and a narrower design, the Redmi Note 15 should be your pick, while at Rs 1,000 less, the Infinix Note Edge is suitable for those who wish to experience the latest Android version, a slim build, a crispier display, and a much larger battery.
