Infinix XOS 16 announced with new AI-powered ‘Mind Hub’, customisable wallpapers, and more

Infinix is giving users more customisation with the latest XOS 16 update. Users can now create themes and wallpapers from scratch using an expanded range of wallpaper formats and deep AI integration. There’s a new ‘Depth Effect’ for visual continuity from the lock screen to the home screen for an immersive experience. Infinix says that there are Anime-inspired designs, playful Doodles, AI-generated portraits, and more to choose from. This should give users enough customisation and control over designing their phone’s UI. Infinix XOS 16 also brings a refreshed design language called Nature Design 2.0. The new interface features soft gradients, fluid motion, and depth-based animations.

AI at the core

XOS 16 brings AI-driven productivity across different apps. The most interesting one would be ‘Mind Hub’, which is an AI-powered space that saves and organises content intelligently based on the details. It’s similar to Mind Space that you find on OnePlus phones, and Nothing’s Essential Space too. XOS 16’s Mind Hub can intelligently store memos, reminders, dates, addresses, and sort them out in a way for you to easily figure out what those events or important details are.

Mind Hub also supports smart action suggestions like prompt scheduling options if you long-press a date or time, navigation shortcuts when selecting an address, and showing calling options while tapping on a phone number. This is done through One-Tap FlashMemo, which instantly converts notes into events, and AskFolax, which saves ideas with one tap. There’s AI Writing to refine messages and AI Suggestions, which learns habits and surfaces the right apps at the right time.

Gaming features

XOS 16 brings frame interpolation to boost visuals, along with AI gaming tools to enhance control, immersion, and engagement. More features, like Magic Voice Changer and Voice Command, are designed to make your gaming experience more interesting. Infinix says it’s also introducing Gameshift, an Immersive Gaming Zone for exclusive gaming-first features.

More features

XOS 16 now lets you transfer photos from your Infinix phone to iOS. Touch Transfer for iPhone will use NFC to instantly share photos without needing a network connection, and only a companion app on the iPhone. A more useful feature is the ‘Remote Enable Find My Device’, which is said to keep tracking active even if the SIM is removed from your phone. This can be helpful in situations when your phone is stolen, and there’s no way to track it.

There’s also bypass charging introduced in XOS 16, which will help reduce heat while using the phone plugged in. Then there’s ‘Touch Optimization’ for rain and waterproof bags, and even ‘Sweaty Hand Recognition’ to help reduce accidental touches and lag.

With XOS 16, Infinix is aiming to deliver a smoother and more refined UI while focusing on practical, everyday features. AI plays a central role, with the promise of making common tasks easier, though its real-world usefulness will only become clear with hands-on use. The brand is also aligning with broader Android trends by adopting newer design elements that make the interface feel more interactive and modern.

XOS 16 will come pre-installed on all upcoming Infinix smartphones. The update is also set to roll out to existing devices, although Infinix has not yet shared the full list of eligible models.
