Flipkart’s Sasa Lele Sale has brought the iPhone 15 down to one of its lowest prices yet in India, and if you have been thinking about picking up an iPhone without paying flagship prices, this is worth paying attention to. The 128GB variant is seeing a significant discount during the sale, making it one of the more accessible entry points into Apple’s ecosystem right now.
But a low price alone does not make something a good buy. So before you hit the buy button, here is everything you need to know about whether the iPhone 15 is still worth it this year, who it makes sense for, and whether you should consider spending a little more instead.

The iPhone 15 128GB is listed at Rs 54,900 on Flipkart during the Sasa Lele Sale, with a Rs 25,000 effective discount from its launch price of Rs 79,999. Depending on your bank card, the effective price can drop further:

What you get at this price
The iPhone 15 is a three-year-old phone, but it does not feel like one in day-to-day use. The A16 Bionic chip can still handle everything from gaming to video editing without breaking a sweat, and the performance gap between it and newer mid-range Android phones at this price point is quite distant. Apple moved to USB-C with its 15 series, which means you can finally use the same cable for your iPhone as your laptop or tablet, which is a small but useful change if you are coming from an older iPhone.
The Dynamic Island, which debuted on the Pro models before trickling down to the standard iPhone 15, makes handling calls, timers, and live activities feel more intuitive than a traditional notch.
The 48MP main camera is still one of the better shooters you will find at this price in India. It handles natural light well, produces accurate skin tones, and shoots clean 4K video, which should cover most everyday photography needs comfortably. Apple also continues to update the iPhone 15 with iOS 26, its latest software release, meaning you are not buying a phone that is already being left behind on the software front.
There is, however, on catch here, as the iPhone 15 does not support Apple Intelligence. The latter requires an A17 Pro chip or newer with at least 8GB of RAM. The iPhone 15 runs the A16 Bionic with 6GB RAM and does not make the cut. If you were hoping to use Apple Intelligence features, you will need to look at the iPhone 16 (review) or newer.
Should you buy the iPhone 15 in 2026?
The iPhone 15 at this price could be a good purchase for the right person, but it is not the right phone for everyone. If you are switching from Android or upgrading from an iPhone 11 or older, the jump in performance, camera quality, and software polish should feel significant enough to justify the price.
If your budget sits firmly around Rs 50,000 to Rs 55,000 and stretching further is not practical, this is one of the better options available right now. The exchange offer of up to Rs 48,800 also means that if you have a relatively recent device to trade in, your out-of-pocket cost could be much lower than the listed price.
However, if you plan to hold on to your next phone for three or more years, the iPhone 16 is worth the extra money. It brings full Apple Intelligence support, a newer A18 chip, and the Camera Control button, and the price difference with applicable bank offers may be smaller than it looks.
If you are not in a hurry, it is also worth waiting for a bigger sale event like the Big Billion Days, where the iPhone 15 could see steeper discounts based on past trends. Although, with memory chip costs rising globally, Apple may look to protect its margins on older models, which could mean the discounts we see later this year might not be as deep. If the deal works for you today, waiting for a significantly better price may not pay off the way it has in previous years.
