OPPO Reno 17 series China launch date

The OPPO Reno 17 series is confirmed to launch in China on November 9th. The teaser image doesn’t reveal much about the phone other than mentioning the Reno 17 moniker with a cat and some glitter. This could be a hint for the phone’s design, which might have some cute pet elements and a glittery finish. The Reno 15 and Reno 16 series are both known to offer a similar aesthetic. OPPO’s Reno series is known to offer one of the most premium and stylish designs in the mid-range segment.

OPPO’s Zhang Ruoxing also teased the Reno 17 with a small tub of glitter, indicating the phone will feature a glittery or shimmery design. Ruoxing’s latest posts on Weibo hint at the colour options for the Reno 17: light blue, white, and brown.

The Reno 17 is also teased to feature the industry’s first six-second-long live videos. In addition to this, you’ll be able to add stickers to live videos, which can move with the people and objects in the scene. You can also make personalised stickers out of things like the milk tea you drank or the music you listened to, and turn your photos into your own digital diary. The Reno 17 uses AI to recognise the subject of the scene so you can freely adjust the sticker layers. These features could appeal to social media creators and Gen Z users.

OPPO hasn’t revealed the specifications of the Reno 17 series yet, but the teasers suggest we will get creative camera and editing features. The Reno 17 series could be worth waiting for if you want a good-looking phone with versatile cameras in the premium mid-range segment. Reno 15 or Reno 16 users might want to reconsider, though, as leaks suggest the Reno 17 series might not offer major upgrades. We should still wait for official details, though, as the specifications are all speculation now.
