Apple is all set to unveil the new generation iPhones on September 12th.
Initially, there were rumours that Apple would scrap the iPhone 15 Pro Max moniker and use 'iPhone 15 Ultra' instead. But later, it was reported that the 'Ultra' name would likely be used for the iPhone 16 series instead. However, the new rumour says otherwise.
Apple's iPhone 15 series launch event is scheduled for September 12th, during which the company will unveil the new iPhones, and some other products. The event will start at 1:00 pm ET, which would be 10:30 pm IST for Indian consumers.
The iPhone 15 is expected to have a significant design change. The iPhone 15 series might have curved edges like the iPhone 5C. The Pro models could also use a titanium frame and body. The power and volume buttons might be a little lower than where they are on the current models. There's a rumour that the Ring/Silent Switch might be replaced with a new Action Button.
According to reports, all the iPhone 15 models will likely ditch Apple's unique Lightning port; instead, they will use a USB Type-C charging system. Additionally, the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to have similar data transfer speeds as current iPhones with Lightning ports. In contrast, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max might offer faster speeds to set them apart.
Meanwhile, a recent report said that the starting price for the iPhone 15 could be $799 (about Rs 65,981). The most expensive version might cost $1299 (roughly Rs 1,06,500).
It's worth mentioning that the iPhone 15 Ultra's launch is based on speculations. However, as suggested by various analysts, there is a possibility that the iPhone Ultra might be introduced next year. We will have to wait a bit longer to receive the official information about the iPhone 15 series since the company is gearing up to reveal the new iPhones in the upcoming days.
