iQOO Z11i teased in China; affordable 5G smartphone launch imminent

Highlights
  • iQOO Z11i could be a rebrand of the Vivo Y60.
  • The handset will launch in three colours.
  • It’s expected to house a 6,500mAh battery.

iQOO is adding a new smartphone to its popular Z11 lineup in China. The iQOO Z11i is being positioned as an affordable 5G smartphone sitting below the existing Z11, Z11x, and Z11 Turbo models. While the company has yet to announce an official launch date, the device has already gone up for pre-orders through iQOO’s online store and major Chinese retailers.

It is also speculated that the Z11i will essentially be a rebranded version of the recently launched Vivo Y60, a move that wouldn’t be unusual given Vivo and iQOO’s history of sharing hardware across select models.

iQOO Z11i: what to expect

Ahead of its debut, iQOO has revealed the phone’s design and color options, which include Green Peak, Desert Gold, and Ink Shadow. The design is closely similar to the Vivo Y60, further adding to the speculation that it is indeed a rebrand.

Based on this speculation, we can expect the same specs for the Z11i. Up front, it could house a 6.72-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device could be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. A large 6,500mAh battery with 15W charging support is also expected, making battery life one of the phone’s highlights.

For photography, the handset may offer a modest 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing shooter. Additional features are tipped to include OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, notification LED, and IP65-rated dust and splash resistance.

The iQOO Z11i looks set to target first-time 5G buyers and users prioritising battery endurance over camera performance or display sharpness. Those seeking stronger cameras or faster charging may want to look at higher-tier options, but the Z11i could prove attractive as a dependable budget daily driver. It would still make sense to wait for more details before going ahead and pre-ordering the phone.
