Ahead of its 10th anniversary, Jio has relaunched its good-old Prime membership. While it is no longer priced at Rs 99 and does not offer features such as subsidised tariffs, the revamped Jio Prime membership gives users some assurance amid reports of telecom operators increasing tariffs. The membership is available to both new and existing Jio users, with benefits including cashback offers, priority customer support, and early access to the telco’s services and products, among other things.
Additionally, Jio reassures that it will continue to offer its affordable Rs 299 and Rs 239 plans for prepaid users with the same benefits. Here’s everything you need to know about Jio Prime and affordable prepaid plans:

Jio Rs 299 prepaid plan
Taking a jibe at Airtel, which recently discontinued its affordable Rs 299 plan, Jio has reassured users that it will continue to offer the Rs 299 prepaid plan with unchanged benefits. The plan is available across circles and offers 1.5GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS/day, a free 18-month Google Gemini Pro subscription with 5TB storage worth Rs 31,500, and a JioHotstar subscription. The plan comes with a validity of 28 days.
As of writing this article, Jio’s Rs 239 remains its most affordable plan for prepaid users in India. The plan offers similar benefits as the Rs 299 plan, but with 23 days’ validity.
Why is Jio relaunching Prime membership?
This makes Jio a better choice for users looking for affordability, while its Prime membership offers further assurance against tariff hikes, which are all but confirmed. All three major telcos, Airtel, Vi, and Jio, are expected to increase the prices of their prepaid plans by up to 15 percent over the next three to four months. In fact, Airtel has already scrapped several of its plans.
Per reports, the price hike could be announced between late October and December 2026. This is being done to increase average revenue per user (ARPU) for the telcos.
