Nothing is expanding beyond phones with its first over-ear headphones, the Nothing Headphone (a), and the company has announced they’re launching alongside the Phone (4a) series on March 5th. The latest teaser poster shows off a bold yellow finish with the company’s dot-matrix logo and a metallic grey edge dotted for texture, hinting at Nothing’s signature semi-transparent style.
Nothing hasn’t officially confirmed much about the headphones but promises “the longest battery life of any Nothing audio product to date,” topping the Nothing Headphone (1)’s 80 hours with ANC off or maybe even the CMF Headphones Pro’s 100 hours. If that claim holds, battery life may become the model’s defining advantage in the mid-range segment.
The (a) naming points to a more affordable tier, much like Nothing’s strategy with its A-series phones and earbuds. Leaks suggest a European price of EUR 159 (around Rs 17,300), which would place it significantly below the Headphone (1)’s price of Rs 17,999 and maybe in the range of Sony’s WH-CH720N or JBL Live 660NC. Both competitors offer active noise cancellation and dependable battery performance under Rs 15,000.
Design as always is a key differentiator for the company. The teaser hints at a metallic grey frame with a dotted texture and the brand’s familiar semi-transparent elements, while additional colours such as black, pink, and white are expected. The brighter palette aligns with the Phone 4a’s young positioning, which is also being offered in blighter hues like blue and pink this time.
Technical details are still under wraps, and certification listings have only confirmed the model number. If Nothing builds on the Headphone (1)’s foundation, features such as Bluetooth 5.3, multi-codec support, and active noise cancellation are likely, even if some hardware elements are simplified to meet a lower price point.
The Nothing Headphone (a) may appeal to those who want distinctive design and long battery life without paying premium prices. Strong ANC and balanced sound will determine how well it competes with established mid-range options. For users considering the Phone 4a series, the coordinated launch also strengthens Nothing’s ecosystem pitch.
