After its debut in UK, Nothing has officially launched the Phone (3a) Lite as the brand’s first-ever ‘Lite’ model and currently the most affordable Nothing smartphone in India. With this launch, Nothing is entering the aggressive sub-Rs 25,000 price bracket, dominated by Motorola, Vivo, Realme and iQOO. The Phone (3a) Lite sits below the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, aiming to bring in Nothing’s design language and software experience at a more accessible price.
Nothing has launched the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite in India at Rs 20,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant, while the 256GB storage model costs Rs 22,999. With launch offers, the phones will be available for Rs 19,999 and Rs 22,999, respectively, through bank discounts. It comes in White, Black, and Blue colour options, available through Flipkart and retail channels.

Although it’s part of the 3a series, the Phone (3a) Lite visually has a closer resemblance to the flagship Phone (3) rather than its siblings. Nothing has removed the signature Glyph Matrix and instead included a single Glyph Light in the bottom-right corner. The phone has a glass back and retains the transparent aesthetic as well as the minimalistic look that Nothing phones are known for.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite comes with a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display sporting a refresh rate of 120Hz, HDR10+, and 3,000 nits peak brightness – one of the brighter screen in this price band. The screen is protected by Panda Glass.
The Phone (3a) Lite gets the widely used MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, which we also saw in the CMF Phone 2 Pro. Paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB, the phone has enough headroom for daily usage, social media, multitasking and occasional gaming. The chipset, which has different versions like Dimensity 7300 Energy, 7300 Ultra and 7300 X, isn’t a class leader in terms of benchmark scores but offers stable performance. The device runs Nothing OS 3.5 on top of Android 15, and the company has confirmed that Nothing OS 4.0 based on Android 16 will be pushed out in early 2026. Users will also get two additional OS updates and six years of security updates, which is longer than many phones in this range.
For the first time, Nothing has pre-loaded Instagram and Facebook, although these apps can be uninstalled. Other inclusions on this phone are the brand’s AI-powered Essential Space, which looks to help consumers organise content better.
The Phone (3a) Lite packs a 50MP main camera with EIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. It supports 4K video at 30fps and 10x digital zoom. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera. It should perform decently reliably for daylight photography and basic social media content, even if it does not compete with camera-focussed rivals.
The Phone 3a Lite comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 33W charging. Both the capacity and charging speed is behind the competition, which is now offering up to 90W charging in devices from Realme, Vivo and iQOO, and an average of 6,000mAh battery capacity. Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, IP54 rating, and a bottom-firing speaker.
In the hotly contested price segment, the Phone (3a) Lite’s closest rivals are the Realme 15T, Lava Agni 4 and the Vivo Y400 5G. The Redmi Note 15 Pro, which is expected to launch in the coming weeks, may also slot in the same segment. The Lava Agni 4 will lead in performance as it offers a stronger chipset, and more RAM and storage, but Nothing could lead when it comes to software experience and aesthetics. Compared to the Vivo phones, the Lite offers longer software support and a more premium look, while the strengths of Vivo and Realme lie in battery and fast charging.
The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is made for users who want Nothing’s aesthetic, software feel and long-term update promise at a lower price. It’s a good fit for light to moderate users, students and buyers who value design and UI consistency over high-performance gaming or advanced camera hardware.
